TRUEfoods launches Sunday Session Series in aid of Bocuse d’Or Team UK
Bocuse d’Or UK and TRUEfoods have collaborated to announce a monthly summer line-up to raise money for Team UK. The Sunday lunch will see previous Bocuse d’Or chefs and friends of Team UK host an up-close and personal dining experience like no other.
Each lunch will offer guests at least a ten-course meal, with carefully selected wine pairing, while having the opportunity to ask questions, take a closer look, participate or simply sit back and enjoy the experience.
Taking on all roles, the renowned chefs spend the afternoon hosting, cooking, waiting on guests, as well as pouring wine, beer, cocktails and concoctions.
At the most recent Sunday Session, Ian Musgrave, Team UK’s 2023 Candidate, and Spencer Metzger, Head Chef at The Ritz London, teamed up to delight guests.
The next Sunday Session will take place on 25 June and will be hosted by Adam Bennett MCA, who became Executive Chef of The Cross at Kenilworth in September 2013 after almost 20 years working at Michelin-starred restaurants. In 2013, Adam achieved the highest score ever for a British chef in the Bocuse d’Or world final - just six points off the podium and with a record yet to be beaten.
Guests attending the July session will be treated to a decadent menu from Alyn Williams, National Chef of the Year 2012, and Tom Booton, who became the youngest head chef in The Grill at The Dorchester’s history.
Running throughout 2023, the Sunday Sessions at chefsTABLE are raising funds to support Bocuse d’Or Team UK’s path to the podium. From ingredients to training and equipment, 100% of the money raised will be donated to the team. Chefs across the country are preparing for the national selection, which will decide who will represent the UK.
Bocuse d’Or is widely regarded as the most prestigious and rigorous culinary competition in the world. Every two years, the best chefs from around the globe compete in Lyon, France for two days of intense competition.
Director and Co-owner of TRUEfoods, Jack Mitchell, said “It is important for the UK to showcase the exceptional talents and skills on Bocuse d’Or global platform. We have exceptional Chefs who are able to deliver outstanding dining experiences.”
“It is important for the future of the hospitality industry to inspire the next generation; we need to support this next journey to Lyon and beyond. TRUEfoods is with Bocuse d’Or UK every step of the way.”
Team UK are currently gearing up for National Selection, the winner of which will represent the UK in the European final in Trondhem, Norway on March 19th and 20th 2024.
The World Final will take place in Lyon in January 2025.
